It's finally cooling down here in the D.C. area this week. Today, fall is officially here. We have bits of fall starting to show: crisp leaves falling, a jacket in the morning, lots of time at the bus stop and sports games for the kids. The new season is full of expectations.
My family's 2021 Fall Bucket list includes:
A trip to the pumpkin patch - Cox Farms is our favorite
Apple picking - Hartland Orchard & Marker - Miller Orchards are traditions
A really great hike - We have a Virginia State Park Pass, and I want to visit a few during some of the most perfect months here in the mid-Atlantic.
Caramel Apples - Blaire is an expert caramel apple decorator. I miss her and my mom at this time of year the most. She'll give us her tips in October.
A Halloween advent - we started this last year with 12 days of Halloween activities. My kids have big plans to do it again. I'll share more details soon.
Camping - we are lucky to live near several great places to camp. My family in the west don't understand how really un-fun camping can be in the summer here thanks to the heat and humidity. September - November are PERFECT with cool nights.
